7 Game Fishing Records in 2011 - it doesn't get any better than Hookin' Bull

Not only is Hookin' Bull one of New Zealand's best equipped sportfishing boats - the captain and crew are top notch.  After hunting, bottom fishing on Hookin' Bull is Ian's favourite pastime.  So, its fair game to assume you only need to drop a hint about game fishing to have us knee deep in arranging a luxury fishing adventure that will soon have you smiling from ear to ear.

Purpose built for game fishing

Hookin' Bull is a purpose built game fishing boat, so it's one of the country's best equipped sportfishers.

Captain and crew

Captain John Batterton  (JB) and his crew are arguably one of the best crews down under for those seeking a quality sportfishing charter experience.  JB has fished on a professional basis for more than 30 years. He's fished extensively in overseas hot spots such as Kona, Cairns, and Madeira and explored the South Pacific waters including Vanuatu, Tonga and the Cook Islands and most recently, the blue marlin mecca that is the Cape Verde Islands. John is passionate about sportfishing and this shows in his dedication to our clients and the solid fishing results produced year after year.

John's talented crew include deckhands Brad Fergus and Rowan White. Brad and Rowan are both well qualified, super experienced and uber-friendly. They also have plenty of offshore crewing experience but best of all - they're enthusiastic.  These guys certainly know you to look after you whilst onboard.

Hookin' Bull success

Light tackle is a real specialty of this crew. This team has notched up some great catches over the years - just check the record books. They're always at the top for tag & release billfish & achieve very consistent tournament results with numerous wins and places.  Light tackle is a speciality with numerous current IGFA world records for blue marlin and striped marlin as well a ladies 4kg mako shark world record along with a number of other NZ National records sharks and tuna.  What about those records?

World record striped marlin, big blue marlin, Marko sharks & super sized Yellowtail Kingfish are all caught in the warm waters off the Northland Coast and around the famous Three Kings Islands.
